In view of the technical difficulties that the titanium alloy shell castings had high requirements for the surface quality of the runner
the graphite ceramic composite mold was selected. Meanwhile
the casting simulation software was utilized to optimize the design of gating system to avoid the generation of large-scale shrinkage defects
and to improve the internal quality of castings. Moreover
the mechanism that ceramic materials improve the surface quality of castings was clarified combined with software calculation and theoretical analysis.
