Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics(SPH)is a meshless particle method
which has advantages in solving large deformation problems.A three-dimensional numerical simulation of AZ31 magnesium alloy during BPECAP process was carried out based on the SPH method. The simulated results were consistent with those in the literature
which verified the correctness of the SPH method back pressure program. The back pressure-equal channel extrusion process of AZ31 magnesium alloy under different process parameters were predictively simulated and analyzed from the perspective of equivalent plastic strain and damage value distribution. The simulated results reveal that the appropriate back pressure value can prevent effectively the initiation and propagation of cracks during the deformation of magnesium alloys.
